Employing women for night work can land you in jail

DID you know that employers can be fined or imprisoned for employing women to perform night work, with a few exceptions?Well, that’s how it is under the current law. The Women (Employment of) Act 1942 states that employers are prohibited from employing women to perform night work, which is defined as a period of 11 consecutive hours which includes the period of 10:00 pm to 5:00 am (see section 3).
