St Vincent-born single mother wins British army discrimination payout

LONDON, England (AFP) — A single mother from the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent, who suffered race and sex discrimination while serving in the British army was awarded over 17,000 pounds (26,000 dollars) at an employment tribunal on Friday.

ILO economist predicts slow pace of recovery for Caribbean economies

GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Senior Economic Adviser, International Labour Organisation (ILO) Headquarters, Robert Kyloh has projected that the global economy is poised for growth, starting this year, but cautioned that the economic recovery for the Caribbean region would move at a very slow pace.
